Student Office news

The Student Office has gone virtual!

The CASS Student Office team is currently working from home, and the front counter located in the Beryl Rawson Building will remain closed for the remainder of 2021.

If you have a quick question, you can drop us an email ( or give us a call during normal business hours (+61 2 6125 2898). If you have a more in-depth question, or if you prefer talking to someone, you can make an appointment or come to a drop-in session to speak with a Student Advisor over Zoom.

For the latest updates on COVID-19 advice related to the ANU, student support services, and remote learning please check out the University COVID-19 page

Are you expecting to graduate soon?

We are currently checking graduation eligibility, and if we discover any issues with your eligibility we will email you to arrange a solution. One of the most common issues is that you may need to transfer credit from previously taken courses in other programs, so please double check if you need to submit a credit transfer application.

If you haven't heard from us, in most cases it means that you've been deemed eligible to graduate. You can expect to be notified of the outcome in early November, and if any issues arise at that point we are here to help you find a solution. In the meantime, you can get in touch if you have any questions, and check out the Graduation FAQs page!

The CASS Student Office is a central hub for students in CASS courses and programs. We provide advice from planning your enrolment through to your graduation, and everything in between.

Our team of dedicated Student Advisors are here to help. We offer students a range of flexible options, so that you can reach us in the way that suits you best. You can:

Opening hours

Monday to Thursday:  Open 9:00am to 5:00pm
Friday: Open 9:00am to 3:00pm
Closed public holidays and University Christmas/New Year shut down

Program and course advice

If you want to know how to complete your degree on time, according to the rules, so that you can graduate as quickly as possible, you need to speak to the CASS Student Office. The CASS Student Advisors will review the courses you have completed and compare them to the rules of the version of the degree in which you are enrolled. For course level administration, including permission codes and timetabling issues, please contact the School or Centre who run that particular course.

Please note that our office does not offer timetable advice, including what to do when you have a clash. All timetabling information can be found here.

Permission codes and academic advice

To obtain permission codes, please get in touch with your School's administration team. Your lecturers and tutors are the best people to advise you on trends and opportunities in your chosen discipline, and to assess your abilities in the discipline.
