Design Canberra 2018 - ANU title
DESIGN Canberra is the national capital's annual festival celebrating the talents and locations of this city of design.

Heritage in the Limelight title
Our Australian Research Council Discovery Project (DP160102509) is investigating the ways in which Australia was profoundly shaped by the technology of magic lantern slide projection. Although neglected until now because it did not fit easily into traditional museum and gallery taxonomies, the visual culture of the magic lantern is becoming an exciting new archival resource for historians, curators and artists.
About being here: an icon, and a rising star title

The first exhibition showing at the ANU School of Art & Design gallery since COVID closed the ANU campus is quietly dazzling.
JamFactory ICON, Angela Valamanesh: About being here is a nationally touring exhibition that has kicked off its Australia-wide journey at the School. It was opened by School Head Dr Beck Davis, with Senior Lecturer in Ceramics Mr Rod Bamford.
Furniture students create on campus "lawn chair" title
Passersby may have wondered what students armed with shovels and wheelbarrows were up to this week on the South lawn of the Chifley Library.
In response to COVID, students from the ANU School of Art & Design course Furniture: Support/Body have taken their learning outside to install a “lawn chair”: a chair and ottoman built from laser cut cardboard, gravel, soil and lawn turf.

On the grassy roundabout in front of the heritage-listed School of Art & Design building, in fresh orange and white paint, are the letters BLM. The acronym for Black Lives Matter.
The School has chosen to make a bold statement of solidarity as part of Canberra's Satellite Selfie, organised by ANU and National Science Week as part of the Where You Are festival.
