Sarah Mann wants more people singing: in the shower, at birthdays, in choirs and at concerts. Anywhere and everywhere. 

“I’d been working in education and in the arts and I’d been seeing music and singing devalued in our society, compared to other societies, but also just generally,” Mrs Mann said. 

“People are flat out just singing Happy Birthday or singing in the shower. 

“Singing is a normal expression of yourself, and it’s part of being human – I don’t get why people don’t sing.” 

A gap in health sector regulation is leaving Australian care workers unprotected from gendered violence title

Gendered violence is widespread in the Australian healthcare system, according to new ANU research. The findings reveal that there are currently no regulatory guidelines designed specifically to protect practitioners from patients. This has left one in four Victorian healthcare workers unprotected when they have experienced inappropriate physical contact at work.
