Supplementary assessment

A student who receives a grade of N45%-N49% is entitled to supplementary assessment.

  1. If a student who is eligible for supplementary assessment is given an interim grade of PX. This constitutes notification that the student has the option of supplementary assessment. While the publication of the grade provides official notification, as a matter of good practice, once the grade is officially published Course Conveners will notify the student of the option of supplementary assessment.
  2. A student must accept or reject the offer in writing within 7 working days of the offer.
  3. If a student fails the supplementary assessment the original mark stands. If they pass the supplementary assessment they will receive the result of 50PS (pass at a supplementary examination) and the Course Convener should submit a change of grades form.  The Course Convener should inform the student of the result of the supplementary assessment in writing.
