School of Art student wins 2011 Australasian Student Design Award

Danyka Van Buuren, a School of Art design student majoring in metalsmithing, has been named as jewellery category runner-up in the 2011 Australasian Student Design Awards.
The prize is for Danyka’s piece of work Picnic Gems and comes with a $500 voucher for precious metals as well as a one-year membership to the Design Institute of Australia.
The annual Australasian Students Design Awards is one of the nation’s leading student design award programs and publicly recognises the outstanding design work of undergraduates, apprentices and graduates.
Danyka was one of four ANU students shortlisted across various categories in this year’s awards.
