PhD candidate earns top award at conference

Melissa Jogie, a PhD candidate from the Centre for European Studies, has been awarded the Best Conference Presentation at the University of Hong Kong's 13th Annual Research Postgraduate Conference.

At the conference, Melissa spoke about her PhD research which investigates how secondary school English literary texts are selected and taught to students from different cultural backgrounds in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Held on 1 June, the conference brought together over 50 presenters from universities in the UK, USA, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, Mainland China and Hong Kong. Melissa was one of 26 international delegates chosen to present a paper.
