ANU School of Art Graduate wins the 2009 Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award
ANU School of Art graduate, Rohan Nicol (B Visual Art 03), has won the 2009 Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award for his “Peppered Sunlight” design.
The piece is a dimmable, height adjustable facilities and light weight material – all functions which contribute to its usability and successful design. First prize is cash award of $30,000.
The Design Discovery Award Exhibition is currently on display at Establishment in Sydney until 30 November 2009, before travelling to Melbourne and Brisbane in early 2010.
Rohan started his career as a gold and silversmith following his Visual Arts program at the ANU including receiving First Class Honours. Rohan is currently completing his PhD at Charles Sturt University.
