ANU philosophy amongst best in world

Philosophy at ANU has been ranked 15th in the world according to the latest Philosophical Gourmet Review. ANU was listed as number one in Australia, far ahead of all other Australian universities.
The rankings were compiled by Brian Leiter, John Wilson Professor of Law at the University of Chicago Law School, and published by Wiley-Blackwell. According to the report "this year's overall rankings are based on reputational surveys completed by 271 philosophers throughout the English-speaking world and Continental Europe. Over 300 philosophers participated in either the overall or specialty rankings."
ANU also fared extremely well in the world-wide specialty rankings. Notably ANU was ranked equal first in the world for "Philosophy of Mind" and "Philosophy of Biology". "Metaphysics", "Decision, Rational Choice and Game Theory", and "Philosophy of Cognitive Science" all ranked equal 6th. "Philosophy of Social Science" was ranked equal 7th and "Political Philosophy" ranked equal 10th.
This review is evidence of the strength and highly regarded reputation of philosophy at ANU. Philosophy is taught at an undergraduate level and has strong research capacities at an HDR level.
