ANU College of Arts & Social Sciences signs Memo of Understanding with the National Film and Sound Archive

The ANU College of Arts & Social Sciences (CASS) and the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate the establishment of closer collaborative arrangements between NFSA and CASS by setting out a framework for future collaboration between the two organizations.
The MOU collaboration will build on the strengths of the NFSA with its national leadership; collections, knowledge and connections; inspiring experiences, engagement and learning and the innovative people and creativity to the strengths of CASS’ research, teaching and community engagement.
“The Memo of Understanding with the National Film and Sound Archive reflects the significant importance the College attaches to working with the national cultural institutions. Such a partnership will enable us to more effectively engage in research and teaching for the benefit of our students and staff” says Professor Toni Makkai, CASS Dean and Director.
Preliminary collaboration opportunities for the two organisations include:
- awards, prizes and the direct support of outstanding students to foster innovation and establish national and international standards,
- joint public programming and presentations to inspire experiences, infor public debate and encourage lifelong learning,
- sharing specialist facilities to confirm national leadership,
- the mutual development of educational resources to set national standards in tertiary education, and
- collaborative educational projects to enhance the distinctive profile of the ANU and the learnign engagements of the NFSA.
