Cross institutional study

Cross institutional study title

A bridge

Coursework cross-institutional study

Studying at another Australian university and counting the course towards your ANU program is known as cross-institutional study.

You will need to consider whether you have room in your degree to undertake cross-institutional study. This will depend on which degree program you are in and how many courses you have already studied elsewhere. This may vary depending upon whether you:-

  • have transferred to the ANU and you have already applied for course credit from another university, and/ or
  • have already completed courses on exchange, and/ or you plan to go on exchange

You should complete the Cross institutional study form and send a copy of the complete form, the course outline(s) for the requested courses and a program plan to students.cass@anu.edu.au

When you complete the approved courses at the host institution it is your responsibility to arrange a copy of an official transcript to be submitted to the ANU for the granting of course credit.

Please send your official transcript to: students.cass@anu.edu.au

Joint or dual/cotutelle PhD programs

ANU offers Joint or dual/cotutelle PhD programs through approved partnerships as one mechanism to deliver excellence in research and research training. Students are enrolled at two universities for the duration of the program. Please note that if you are a current ANU HDR student, you will need to apply within six months of commencing your PhD program at ANU.
