True biographies of nations? Exploring the cultural journeys of dictionaries of National Biography

In 1966, the recently retired Prime Minister of Australia, Sir Robert Menzies, launched volume one of the Australian Dictionary of Biography at University House, The Australian National University. We are returning to University House to celebrate the 50th anniversary of that event as well as to mark the beginning of the conference "True Biographies of Nations? Exploring the Cultural Journeys of Dictionaries of National Biography". Our guest of honour is the Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG. Paul House is giving the welcome to country and a musical performance on the didgeridoo. Join us to celebrate this special occasion.
