Mozart in three cities

The much beloved concert series at University House are back and to inaugurate the series both University House and the ANU School of Music are delighted to present Dr Erin Helyard and Skye McIntosh, one the school's Distinguished Artists in Residence, in concert, showcasing the beautiful and rare instruments of the ANU Historical Keyboard Collection.
Since taking up tenure at the ANU in July of 2014, Dr Helyard has begun the important process of restoring and consolidating the Historical Keyboard Collection as a viable research and performance resource. For University House, Dr Helyard together with Ms McIntosh will showcase the school's replica copy of a 1788 fortepiano by Johann Stein as well as a copy of a 1795 fortepiano by Anton Walter. As artistic director of the ANU School of Music's Ensemble-in-Residence for 2014 (the Australian Haydn Ensemble) Skye McIntosh is well known to Canberra audiences and has contributed significantly to the research and teaching environment at the School.
The concert series will feature violin and fortepiano music centred around Mozart's activities in three cities: Salzburg, Mannheim, and Vienna.
