Modelling the figure: five decades of French sculpture

Lucina Ward, Curator, International Painting and Sculpture at the NGA, gives a free talk exploring representations of the figure by Rodin, Bourdelle, Lachaise and Maillol from the 1880s to 1940s.
Following the program crêpes and mulled wine will be served in Gandel Hall.
Program will be moved to the James O Fairfax Theatre in the case of wet weather.
This program is supported by the ANU Centre for European Studies which has partnered with the National Gallery of Australia to hold series of talks and lectures across 2015-2017.
With the National Gallery's extensive holdings of European art, there are many stories to be told through the collection.
The lectures will focus on exploring the many connections between Australian and European history and culture and the Gallery's European art collection.
