One year after the outbreak of war in East Ukraine, though the EU seems set to continue the sanctions, the US has started talking to Moscow.
Does this mean that relations with Russia are back to business as usual?
Is Putin’s regime now able and willing to seek a modus vivendi with the West, or are more surprises in store?
The crisis has seen a strengthening of Putin’s political authority but a weakening of Russia’s economy.
How will these two trends play out over the next several years?
