Forbidden TANGO Alicia Rappoport

The Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies and the Argentine Embassy present:
Forbidden TANGO
Alicia Rappoport
Camilo Ferrero, Bandoneon
The Argentine soprano Alicia Rappoport, who moves comfortably from tango to international repertoire and to opera, will offer a powerful one-woman performance.
Paired with Camilo Ferrero, the master of the iconic tango instrument ‘bandoneon’, they will bring to life various characters inspired by the lyrics of some of the traditional tango’s greatest poets and composers as well as Piazzolla’s transcendent musical expression called ‘tango nuevo’ (new tango).
The performance will be followed by Argentine wine and canapes through the kind support of the Argentine Embassy.
Admission is free.
