ANU/Canberra Times meet the author event with Ashleigh Wilson

Ashleigh Wilson will be in conversation with Sasha Grishin on Wilson's new book, Brett Whiteley: Art, Life and The Other Thing.
Written with unprecedented behind-the-scenes access, and handsomely illustrated with classic Whiteley artworks, rare notebook sketches and candid family photos, this dazzling biography reveals for the first time the full portrait of a mercurial artist.
Ashleigh Wilson has been The Australian's Arts Editor since 2011. Emeritus Professor Sasha Grishin is recognised as one of Australia's leading art historians, with over 20 books and 2,000 articles on various aspects of art.
'Ashleigh Wilson has produced an intriguing, absorbing and assured account of Brett Whiteley's life and work,'- Mark Knopfler
'With relentless precision, Ashleigh Wilson has provided a peerless grasp of the life and genius of Brett Whiteley. It is the dispassionate biography Whiteley has long needed: a career clarified from the brilliant clouds of myth,'- Barry Pearce, Emeritus Curator of Australian Art. Art Gallery of NSW.
Books will be on sale thanks to the University Co-Op bookshop. Signings will take place from 6pm and after the talk.
