Professor Roberts is a leading scholar of gender and science studies. Her research centres on the body, health, reproduction and biotechnology. She is the author of Puberty in Crisis: A Bio-psycho-social Account (Cambridge University Press, 2015); Messengers of Sex: Hormones, Biomedicine and Feminism (Cambridge University Press, 2007) and co-author of Born and Made: An Ethnography of Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (Princeton University Press, 2006). Her current work includes investigations of biosensing technologies, the use of technologies to care for older people at home, and the application of neuroscientific knowledge in parenting. She co-edits the journal Feminist Theory.
