Two new books co-authored by Professor Dowding launched

Yesterday two news books co-authored by Professor Keith Dowding, from the ANU School of Politics and International Relations, were launched by Professor Geoffrey Brennan, from the ANU School of Philosophy.

Accounting for Ministers and Exits, Voices and Social Investment were launched at the ANU Co-op Bookshop.

Speaking at the event on Accounting for Ministers Professor Brennan said “I like this book and the approach to research it instantiates. So often in politics, the human-interest details dominate and occlude whatever might be induced of a general kind."

"In this book, the salacious details are backgrounded to allow the generalisations to emerge: and some of these are interesting and important – and as I say re-assuring for those of us who nurture some hopes for our political institutions!" said Professor Brennan.

On Exits, Voices and Social Investment Professor George Boyne, from the Cardiff Business School at Cardiff University shared "this book is a culmination of an outstanding record of research by the authors".

"It is a very important theoretical and empirical contribution to our understanding of how citizens make decisions about public services," said Professor Boyne.
