How to apply

Selecting your degree preferences

As part of your application to study an undergraduate degree at ANU you can choose a number of degree preferences. It is important that you list the degree that you would most like to study as your first preference. For example, if you would like to study the Bachelor of International Relations you should list this as your first preference and the Bachelor of Arts as your second preference, as you can complete an international relations major in both degrees. Also, you can include combined degrees in your preference list – if your first choice is a combined degree (eg. Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Commerce) you should list this as your first preference and the relevant single degree (eg. Bachelor of Arts) as your second or later preference.

Australian and New Zealand applicants

If you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, to apply for an undergraduate degree at ANU you need to apply through the Universities Admission Centre (UAC). Your application to UAC allows you to list up to nine degree preferences.

Detailed information on how to apply including closing dates for domestic students can be found on the ANU applications and offers page.

International applicants

If you are an international applicant you can apply for an undergraduate degree directly to ANU online or through an ANU registered representative in your country.

Detailed information on how to apply including closing dates for international applicants can be found on the ANU applications and offers page.

International applicants studying in Australia or New Zealand

If you are an international student who is currently undertaking an Australian year 12 qualification, an International Baccalaureate in Australia, or the New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement Level 3, you may apply for an ANU undergraduate degree through UAC International.
