Welcome to Dr Jeanine Leane who has recently joined the College in the Australian Centre for Indigenous History.
Jeanine, who is a Wiradjuri woman from south-west New South Wales, currently holds an ANU post-doctoral fellow.
Her research interests include:
- the historical trajectory of representations of Aboriginal Australians in the national literacy landscape by non-Aboriginal authors from the 18th Century onwards;
- representations of settlers by Aboriginal authors since the 1960s; and
- the literary imaginings of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australians in the post-Mabo literary climate.
Previously Jeanine has worked as a teacher, at both a secondary and tertiary level, and as a research fellow at the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies.
