The ANU (Canberra) Friends of the Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens presents the Scholarship for Research in Greece during 2010. The scholarship is sponsored by the Hellenic Club of Canberra and assists a local scholar whose research requires a period in Greece. The areas of research include:
- The archaeology, history and literature of Ancient Greece
- Byzantine archaeology, history, and literature
- Post-Byzantine Greece
- Modern Greek studies including history, literature and art
- Areas of research providing to the AAIA's archeological expedition to Greece
Eligibility
- Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.
- Applicants must also be either students, graduates or staff of tertiary educational institutes in the ACT, or persons resident in the ACT for at least two years at the time of applying for the scholarship.
- An applicant should normally possess a university degree at Honours level, or equivalent.

Selection Process
Applications will be ranked by the sub committee of the Executive Committee of the ANU (Canberra) Friends of the Institute.

Value of Scholarship
The basic grant shall be the equivalent of a return excursion airfare Canberra-Athens plus a contribution up to a maximum of $4,000 towards living and research expenses.
The duration of the scholarship may be held for a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 12 months.
Conditions
The scholarship must be taken up in 2010.
