The Key Thinkers Seminar Series will be held from May through November. The series converges with cross-cultural and biography RSH themes, it’s a flexible format drawing on prominent ANU academics who discuss the significance and legacy of intellectuals, activists, writers, and artists, those ‘key thinkers’ who have been important influences on their work.
All lectures are on a Tuesday from 5pm-6.30pm, they run for approximately fifty minutes allowing time for questions.

Eminent Lecturer Series, November 2009
Women and War
Professor Hilary Charlesworth and other eminent scholars will deliver a series of lectures on the theme of Women and War.
This lecture series will consider women's complex relationship to war and conflict. It will investigate the images of womanhood that are used in decisions about the use of force as well as the effect of conflict on women.
This lecture series will be held at the ANU during the month of November. Further details to be announced.

The Herbert and Valmae Freilich Foundation presents: “A Brighter Day”
an exhibition held as part of the Freilich Foundation summer school in Religion and Bigotry 2009.
Do you pray? Do you protest? What do you believe in? No matter where your faith lies – religion, politics, the environment or simply peace – within us all is a brighter day.
About the artists:
Ursula is an archaeologist and artist. She is currently a PhD candidate at the School of Art, ANU. Katie is a digital media developer and lecturer at the Research School of Humanities, ANU. Katie and Ursula have worked on several collaborative photomedia projects, “A Brighter Day ” is their most recent work.

In the lead up to Anzac Day a research team wants the nation to reconsider its fixation on the 1915 Gallipoli campaign by raising awareness about the long and complex history of conflict and settlement on the Gallipoli peninsula.
The Australian researchers are pulling together the first exhaustive history of the Gallipoli region from the Bronze Age through to the 21st century commemorative industry.
