Information
for parents and teachers of future students
Parents
The transition
from school to university can be very challenging for students
and parents. At university students become more independent and
adjusting to the new study environment takes time and effort.
However, we
need to keep in mind that many parents experience a transition
of their own when their daughter/son commences university. Seeing
your child leaving home is a stressful time for all parents.
To assist
parents we have put together some information to answer some of
the many common questions you might have about university education
and some tips on how to help your child.
We spoke to
Ban-Ya Yim who is a Bachelor of Arts/Law student and her mother,
Monica Yim, to find out about
their experience.
Teachers
and Careers Advisers
We know teachers
and careers advisers share our goal to ensure students choose
the right program and university to suit their individual needs.
To assist you in helping students and their parents in the decision-making
process we offer a range of support services such as publications,
tailored talks, school visits and campus tours.
To
provide you with up-to-date and relevant information we also put
together an ANU College of Arts & Social Sciences e-newsletter
to keep you informed of what’s on and what’s new in
the College.
