CASS Teaching and Learning Awards
The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences Teaching and Learning Awards are to recognise and encourage excellence in both coursework teaching and research supervision within the College of Arts & Social Sciences.
In 2009 there are four awards being offered by the College with $1000 each in prize money.
International Alliance of Research Universities' (IARU) Global Summer Program 2010
The International Development Office is seeking proposals from Colleges to run a course under the 2010 International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU) Global Summer Program (GSP).
The IARU GSP offers students from IARU institutions the opportunity to study together during the (northern) summer in intensive short courses. These courses are specially designed to be academically ambitious, with an emphasis on educating future global leaders.
Flexible Delivery Plan and CASS PGC Models
Following extensive discussion by the College Education Committee and relevant sub-committees the CEC has endorsed a College wide flexible delivery plan and a framework for ensuring consistency in postgraduate courses in the College.

Dr John Minns (Social Sciences) announced as a recipient of the 2009 ALTC Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning
The Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) has announced that 7 nominees from ANU have been selected to receive 2009 Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning.
Australian Book Review Competitions
The Australian Boon Review has two competitions of possible interest for CASS staff:
The Calibre Prize for Outstanding Essay is one of the world's major essay competitions, and offers first prize monies of $10,0000. Calibre Prize for Outstanding Essay Entry Form
The inaugural Young Calibre Prize - open to writers 21 and under - offers first prize money of $3000. Young Calibre Prize Entry Form
The Calibre and Young Calibre Prizes are intended to generate brilliant new essays and to foster new insights into culture and society. They welcome essays from leading authors and commentators but also from emerging writers. All non-fiction subjects are eligible: from life writing to literary studies, history to politics, biography to philosophy, natural history to popular science, travel writing to environmental studies.

Review of Student Residential Facilities
The University is conducting a review of Student Residential Facilities, focussing on how the halls, residential colleges and lodges can better enrich the educational, social and cultural experiences of ANU students.
