New Graduate Certificate in History available in flexible delivery
A new Graduate Certificate in History will be available at ANU from 2013. A group of courses in this innovative degree has been designed to meet the professional requirement of teachers preparing for the introduction of the new National Curriculum in History.
To accommodate the needs of busy professionals, these courses are offered in flexible delivery mode (fully online) and will take students two semesters of part-time study to complete. Those interested in further study can proceed from the Graduate Certificate in History to the new Master of History.The history courses on offer in flexible delivery mode are:
- HIST6110 History and Theory
- HIST6506 Researching and Writing History
- HIST8015 Colonial Australia in an Imperial World
- HIST8016 Settler Societies and Indigenous Encounters
- HIST8017 Australia and the World at War
- HIST8018 A Globalising World
These courses are completed through online forums and exercises and include an optional residential workshop (usually consisting of two days at the ANU campus undertaking workshops, excursions and research). There are also numerous other postgraduate history courses being offered on campus that can be included in the Graduate Certificate in History.
