PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

 The CASS External Relations Office will –

  • Develop and implement a communications strategy, including media engagement, for the College consistent with its strategic directions.
  • Develop and implement an alumni and industry engagement plan for the College consistent with its strategic directions.
  • Develop and implement a marketing and student recruitment plan consistent with the College strategic directions.
  • Develop a suite of external relations and outreach templates for use by CASS staff.
  • Provide support and advice on external relations to staff in CASS Areas, including policies, procedures and practices.
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate a good working relationship with the Division of the Registrar and Student Services (student recruitment); the Marketing Office and other central administrative offices involved in external relations.
  • Provide accurate management information to the CASS Dean and GM on a monthly basis, and more frequently when required.
  • Support staff training and development for all CASS External Relations staff.
  • Uphold University policies and procedures and the broader values of the ANU.

  • Develop plan in consultation with College Dean and Education and Research Committees by
  • Present 2010 plan, with implementation strategies, to College Executive by November 2009

3.  Develop and implement an alumni and industry engagement plan for the College consistent with its strategic directions.

4.  Develop a suite of external relations and outreach templates for use by CASS staff.
Key performance indicators:

  • Identify external relations and outreach templates required by CASS staff, including event management, print/publications, web pages, media engagement, marketing, research profiles by
  • Publish approved templates on College intranet for testing and usage by
  • Continuously improve and develop templates.

5.  Provide support and advice on external relations to staff in CASS Areas, including policies, procedures and practices.
Key performance indicators:

  • Co-ordinate regular meetings with marketing, communications and recruitment representatives from CASS centres and schools for efficient and mutually beneficially planning and implementation
  • Identify and co-ordinate areas of training and development to assist and elevate the capacity of CASS marketing, communications and recruitment staff
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate a good working relationship with the Division fo the Registrar and Student Services (student recruitment); the ANU Marketing Office and other central administrative offices involved in external relations.
  • Disseminate relevant information to CASS Area administrators in a timely manner.
  • Co-ordinate CASS responses to central offices from CASS Areas on external relations matters.

7.  Provide accurate management information to the CASS Dean and GM on a monthly basis, and more frequently when required.
Key performance indicators:

  • Provide monthly reports to the CASS Dean and GM in a clear and concise manner.
  • Inform CASS Dean, GM and Executive promptly of any ‘significant events’.
  • Requests for information from the Dean or Executive are provided promptly and accurately.

8.  Support training and development of all CASS External Relations Office staff.
Key performance indicators:

  • All staff to attend at least 1 ANU training course per annum.
  • All staff to attend at least 1 training/development event related to their professional employment per annum. 

9.  Uphold University policies and procedures and the broader values of the ANU.
Key performance indicators:

  • All staff conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the values of CASS and the ANU.
  • All staff adhere to ANU policies and procedures.
