ERASMUS+ Higher Education Mobility for staff and students

Call for Expressions of Interest

The Australian National University College of Arts and Social Sciences and Ca’Foscari University in Venice have negotiated an exchange arrangement, with a grant attached, whereby ANU students and staff have the opportunity to study or work at Ca’Foscari University between February and June of 2018. See below for a table that very briefly outlines these opportunities.

3 x Coursework Master’s students

February-June 2018

Full-time study during Ca’ Foscari’ University’s Semester 2, starting in February and ending in June

Students are expected to complete courses relevant to their program at Ca’ Foscari University for which they will receive credit towards their ANU degree.

 

1 x HDR student

February-June 2018

Full-time study, under the direction of an academic from Ca’ Foscari University

Students are expected to work on their thesis topic and / or complete thesis preparation courses at Ca’ Foscari University for which they will receive credit towards their ANU degree.

 

3 x academic staff members

February-June 2018

Person 1: 35 days + 2 travel days

Person 2: 30 days + 2 travel days

Person 3: 30 days + 2 travel days

Each academic is expected to teach at Ca’ Foscari University for 8 hours a week during the exchange period

Teaching hours may be devoted to lectures, seminars, workshops, or tutorials

 

1 x academic administrator OR professional administrative staff member

February-June 2018

10 days + 2 travel days

Only one placement is available for Australia and applicants from all Australian partner institutions will be competing with each other

 

Funding

Successful applicants will receive a grant as a contribution to their costs for travel and individual support during their mobility. Grant amounts are specified in the table below.

Individual financial support: 850€ per month

Travel grant: Travel costs will be covered by the project, up to the amounts defined by the E+ programme on the basis of the distance bands. Changes will not covered.

 

Staff members

Individual financial support: 140€ per day until the 14th day, then 98€ (70%) from 15th to the 60th day

Travel grant: Travel costs will be covered by the project, up to the amounts defined by the E+ programme on the basis of the distance bands. Changes will not be covered.

Call for expressions of interest

Students and staff are to complete an expression of interest form. From the entrants, a competitive process will then begin to determine who can apply.

Formal application process

The selected applicants from the expression of interest round will be contacted  and given further information on how to apply. They are required to complete a number of application forms, and provide additional documentation such as passports, that are to be uploaded through an online portal.

Documents for formal application process

Applicants who are accepted into the Formal application process round are expected to provide the following documents as well as the completing the formal application form (not yet active)

 

Students must provide the following documents in the formal application process (originals or certified copies):

 

  • Completed Application Form (to be provided in formal application link)
  • Valid passport
  • Evidence of home address, i.e. drivers’ licence, bills in the student’s name, etc
  • Evidence of enrollment at the Australian National University
  • Australian National University transcript, indicating university grades/marks for finished and/or current cycles of study
  • Official language certifications (if any) or self-certifications of language qualifications
  • Proposed Learning Agreement (for 1st and 2nd cycle students)/Mobility Programme (3rd cycle students), signed by the applicant, the Erasmus+ Administrative Coordinator and Erasmus+ Academic Coordinator or Coordinator of the Student’s Study Programme of the sending institution (to be provided in formal application link)
  • For PhD students only: Letter of interest signed by the prospective academic supervisor/Head of Department at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice stating the availability and willingness to supervise the applicant. In order to get this applicants MUST contact international.cooperation@unive.it (providing a CV and a research plan).
  • Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages) in English, including extracurricular activities (courses, seminars, conferences, published research, etc.) and professional experience related to the fields of knowledge of the courses.   • The student may also wish to supply:
    • Proof of socio-economic disadvantaged background
    • Recommendation letters and other supporting documents in English, e.g. honours, awards, internship/work certificates, proof of disability if relevant

 

Staff members applying for this opportunity must provide the following documents

 

  • Completed Application Form (to be provided in formal application link)
  • Valid passport
  • Evidence of home address, i.e. drivers’ licence, bills in the student’s name, etc
  • Evidence of employment at the Australian National University, e.g. letter from ANU HR
  • Mobility Programme signed by the applicant and by the E+ Administrative Coordinator
  • Letter of interest signed by the prospective academic supervisor or Head of Department (for academic staff) at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice or by the administrative supervisor (for administrative staff) stating the availability and willingness to collaborate with the applicant.   • Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages) in English including extracurricular activities (courses, seminars, conferences, published researches etc.) and professional experience related to the fields of knowledge of the courses.   • One letter of recommendation (maximum 1 page) written by academics, researchers and/or by professionals who have participated in the candidate’s academic or professional training, complete with their email and phone numbers, and the at least another referee‘s contact details
