The paper will argue that contrary to some perceptions that the civil rights movement differed dramatically from the era of Jim Crow segregation in America, in fact the struggle for racial equality in the 40s, 50s and 60s was based on the foundations of resistance to racism built within the black community during the age of segregation. more»
